Since serving on the City Council for the last 3 years, I’ve worked tirelessly with residents, our other council members, city staff, community stakeholders, and organizations. I'm proud of the work we have accomplished together.
Together we have:
A few things so you can get to know me…

I believe we are a stronger community when everyone does well. Families are prosperous, our seniors have what they need to age in place, and we have good jobs paying livable wages. We must continue to investment in affordable housing, quality youth programs and sports, better access to employment, job training, education, and transportation.
Safe neighborhoods are a top priority for me. Building good relationships with our neighbors, having neighborhood crime watch, and collaborating with our police and fire departments will create safer neighborhoods.
I will continue to strengthen our local economy by providing our local businesses support and resources to thrive in our city. I will also continue to fight for high-quality development here that will bring value to our city and bring more jobs paying livable wages. Quality development that will contribute to our tax base so it lessens the tax burden on residents like you and me.
I will work hard to bring more restaurants and retail to our city so we don’t have to go outside of our city to dine and shop.
It is important to me that we are fiscally responsible and conservative with your tax dollars and continue to eliminate wasteful spending and manage your tax dollars wisely. Good stewardship of your tax dollars and city resources are a priority for me so that we do not overburden the residents here. Also ensure that our residents receive high quality, reliable and responsive services from the City.
I am committed to community engagement and making sure that our residents are included in the decisions that impact their lives. I will continue to bring the community voices to City Hall and always putting our residents first.
We have 60 parks in our city. A park in every neighborhood. I love our green spaces and parks and will continue to champion investment in our parks, trails, nature areas, and recreational facilities to promote an active and healthy lifestyle for all ages.
I envision a vibrant Brooklyn Park where all residents feel safe. I look forward to continuing the discussions and work we are currently doing with our residents on police reform and re-imagining what policing and public safety could look like in our city. Thinking through what works well and what needs to change. Also, working on a sustainable model that will include having mental health workers and social workers accompany police officers on 911 calls that are related to mental health and domestic issues.
It is critically important that during this COVID-19 pandemic we have city leaders who are working in partnership with others to ensure the health and safety of our residents. Since the pandemic we have been working nonstop to ensure that our residents and business are supported and informed. There are social and economic challenges that have and will continue to emerge in the wake of COVID -19. My commitment is to continue to play an active role in addressing the needs of our community, plan for emergency protocols for public health emergencies, ensure that our residents get timely and accurate information about our local preparedness and response, and provide critical resources to our small business in our city.
